Online Course FAQs

To register click on the REGISTER button or this link and follow the prompts.

Once submitted, you will first receive a “confirmation” email to confirm your email is recorded correctly.  This should arrive within 2 – 3 minutes. Please look out for it.

Following this, the next emails will relate to issuing you a pro-forma invoice and a link to register the student(s) into the system,

If you get stuck, please call or email us.

The first email you will receive from us is a “confirmation” email that verifies we have your correct email details recorded and seeking your permission to send you course related emails. This is part of our anti-spam policy. It is important you acknowledge this email a.s.a.p. by clicking on the “confirmation” link in the email.

If you haven’t received any emails from us within 10 minutes, please check your email spam / junk folder.

We have set up a number of “behind-the-scenes” systems to help ensure all our emails arrive in a timely manner however, some servers have very strict spam filter settings that can capture genuine emails.  To help overcome this, you can add support@tatsa.com.au in your “white list” settings.

If you still haven’t received anything from us, please contact us by email or phone and we’ll sort it our for you.

It might also be worth contacting your email server provider and see if the system is blocking us for some reason.

Yes, in the registration screen you will be prompted to enter how many people you want to register.

Once your course registration payment is finalised you will receive an email asking for their details.

We have set up the system so you don’t have to enter them all at once – you can record the details of those you have and come back later to enter the others in your own time.

For each student you register you will need to enter;

  • their name
  • a unique email address
  • a contact phone number

Please note: It is very important you record a unique email address for each student because this will become part of their unique login details. Using an email address accessed by more than one student will cause problems with their course progression and getting important information delivered to them in a timely manner.

We recommend against the use of generic email addresses, such as admin@ . These generic addresses can cause problems because it relies on someone else to forward it to the intended recipient. They should only be used if it is accessed exclusively by the student and/or is suitable for receiving confidential and private communications.

Yes, you will receive an initial “pro forma” invoice and once payment is made a formal tax invoice will be issued.

You have two payment options:

  1. Credit / debit card using our secure payment portal.
  2. EFT to our bank account.  Please ensure your details are entered on the transfer so we can quickly match it up and finalise your registration.

You can also request to “Pay By Invoice” which issues an invoice for your accounts payable to handle. Payments can then be made using either of the above methods.

Yes, the registration screen has provision to nominate a person to receive the invoice.

The “proforma” invoice will reflect the full amount if you didn’t enter your promo code when registering.

Don’t worry, it’s not too late to use your code.

When you are in the secure payment portal screen there is a field for you to enter your promo code and this will automatically adjust the final amount for you.

No formal qualifications or electrical training is required. We will teach you what you need to know.

Most of the electrical theory is of a fundamental level. We are confident you will pick it up fairly quickly however our tutors are aware some students may not have a technical background so they are available if you have any questions or need any help.

This is an online course so there are no start dates like a classroom based course.

Once you are registered as a student you have 24/7 access to the content and you can get started as soon as you are ready.

Shortly after you have registered, your login details will be sent to you by email.  This will include a temporary password and a link to the login site.

If you haven’t received your login details, see the FAQ about not hearing from us.

Once the course payment is made and your details are recorded in the system as a student you will receive an email with your log in details. Follow the prompts and you can get started immediately.

Payment by card is the quickest way to finalise the registration process.

Payments by EFT usually arrive the following working day when made before the bank’s cut-off time. We do daily checks for EFT deposits and once we match up your payment we get your access set up asap.

The course is based on the same 8 hours content provided in our short course.

With this online course you can go at your own pace. How quickly you get through it all will vary depending on your previous exposure to the information contained in the course.

As a general indication, some people with an electrical background get through it all in a few hours because they already know a lot of the information. Other students might take 3 to 4 hours and some a bit longer.

There’s no hurry so just go at your own pace.  It is better to take your time and get the maximum benefit from the course than to rush through it and miss some important information.

No.  You can do the online course in one or more sessions.  You can start when you are ready and go at your own pace. If you need to take a break you can log out and return when you are ready to continue. The system will remember exactly where you last got up to and enable you to pick up from that point.

You can also go back over any content you have completed.

To access the course content you will need access to:

  • A computer / laptop
  • A reliable internet connection
  • A copy of AS/NZS 3760 *

To practice the practical aspects you will need;

  • An insulation / continuity meter or
  • An automated PAT
  • Class 1, Class 2 appliances, an extension lead and a powerboard

*  This is an important document and will be referenced many times during the course. If you do not have access to a copy you can purchase one from Sai Global or Standards New Zealand or try a google search for other possible download sites. We strongly recommend you obtain your own copy as it is very likely you will need to refer to it from time to time after you have completed the course.

If you get stuck you can contact your tutor, they are their to help you.

Just send us an email and they will typically respond the same day.  If you prefer to discuss it, you can give us a call.

Our support team works normal business hours so they might not get back to you until the next working day.

To test and tag appliances you must be a competent person.

Note: Some jurisdictions may have different requirements.
